OVERLAY was founded in 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. With backgrounds in the healthcare supply chain and performance sportswear industries, we quickly recognised the growing issue of disposable face mask waste and the lack of high-quality reusable face masks for everyday civilian use.
We found that there were no stylish, functional, reliable face masks that kept us protected and simultaneously reflected our passion for contemporary culture. We needed a product that would resonate with our experience of the world, and at the same time be easy-to-use and accessible. Most importantly, we wanted something that we didn’t have to discard everyday. After months of careful development and construction, OVERLAY was born.
We’ve come to terms with the fact that we’ll probably be wearing masks for a while. For us, it has become a habit and a necessity to feel protected. As such, we believe in investing in quality product that’s meant to last.
